Hi All
Has anyone had any experience with CD Changer problems in a S-Type

Pressing the screen and i can only select one CD all others not available and on the CD that is running it says it is playing track 99
I have no sound what so ever and although the changer is fully loaded i cannot select any other disk as said above.

I can eject the rack and so have power to the changer so i am wondering is it a Cd Changer problem or something to do with the screen soft ware scratchchin

Please Help frown

Many Thanks

Pasco

Silly question (assuming your car is like mine) - are you pressing CDC and not CD?

I think you must have CDC selected, otherwise you wouldn't get the option of selecting the 6 seperate discs.

My memory might be making this up, but isn't there a reset button on the CD changer? Might be worth giving it a go.

My car has a cassette player so the CDC button is the CD button in my car.

I have tried everything the Audio System handbook suggest but with no luck.

The screen says i am still in CDC mode FFs

Any Ideas Fellas ?

I don't know if your car is the same model as mine (06) but I have satnav and three buttons underneath for FM, CD and CDC. CD operates the single CD in the dash slot whilst CDC operates the changer in the boot. I was confused once when I used CD by mistake and could only play one disk.

However your problem is different so I dont know the answer, sorry.

You could try punding the top of the dashboard with your fist nuts

Thanks anyway

OK so since i have a cassette player as an option and the 6 CD auto changer i guess the screen should then read CDC when i want to play a CD so i am back to square one.

Any ideas people ?

First thing is to obvious route; check all the connections. If that fails I'd ask www.fixmyradio.co.uk for ideas. For my last S-Type I bought a CD autochanger from eBay and when it arrived the loading mechanism was jammed; they fixed it for £55.

Well i know this is going to sound daft but i guess at the age of 47 its not surprising.

Last night lying in bed at about 2am i remembered that the car was fitted with an i-pod docking station in the central arm rest by a previous owner and having had the car for four years and not owning an i-pod until this Christmas i thought i should take a look at it today.

Well bugger me when i put my sun glasses back in the center armrest compartment i must have moved the switch which puts it in i-pod mode and once switching it back and taking the key out and then turning the key the CD worked as normal paperbag

While i feel a tt but i hate it when threads are not completed even at the Ops expense getmecoat

Cheers Simpo and the other fella who could be bothered to help me out thumbup

All's well that ends well wink

I even read about the ipod adapter when looking for some info to your problem, but it never clicked what was happening! Glad you got it sorted.
