Was looking through the classifieds and came across this

The fact that he didn't bother to wash it before taking the pic doesn't bode well...surely 30 minutes of your time cleaning it is worth the effort?!

It doesn't seem too bad. I was half expecting to see a car in a ditch or under a tonne of snow.

I have seen worse, but I am shocked by how little effort sellers put into their advert.
Poor use of language and grammar does not impress anyone.

Agree he could have taken more photos, but the text is copy/paste, boring but functional.

I'm in the market for a XKR at the moment and saw this advert the other day and didn't bother to read it and just moved on. Terrible Photo. Zero effort.

Although to be fair you are looking for a car, not an advertsing agency. It might be a cracker - a bit like not buying a house because you don't like the current occupant's furniture.

(At least he hasn't called it something else to get more views...)

It might also be a dog! If the current owner can't even be bothered to clean it, what else has he/she not bothered with? It would put me off straight away.

I agree.

If he can't be bothered to spend an hour or so to wash it for a possible sale, I bet he can't be bothered to spend 10 minutes a week to check the oil/tyres/fluid levels etc.

Isn't that what the AA/RAC is there for

considering it isn't even that competitively priced why would you buy it over a main dealer car with full warranty? at least that would be immaculate when you picked it up!

I just bought an XKR btw - lovely piece of kit

not joined as yet but may do so shortly

the only thing I'm not so keen on in my car is the Poplar wood option on the dash - not sure if this is easily changed but no doubt it will be expensive

Sorry missed your reply

You can get the facia changed by having it recovered or some times find others second hand

First welcome to the XKEC then

I know you can get them through SNG Barratt 01746-765432
I think a company called Mertall (not sure of spelling) does then

If you are in the south east I'm sure my Jaguar Specialist said he can get them done

At 28k miles, I should have thought very little could be wrong with it; and perhaps, if vendor is so laid-back that the car is grubby, you might be able to cut a better deal than on an gleaming P&J. Just a thought.

The child seat anchorages would put me off: just think what confectioners' horrors - not to mention partially-digested ex-confectionary - you might find when you cleaned the interior properly eek.

Which prompts the thought - an hour to clean a car? It takes me 3 hours min, just to wash & leather the outside: more acreage and 4 doors, admittedly, but I reckon to spend 30 mins on my wheels.

I bought the car and it looks a whole lot better than the ad implied....it had been valeted before I viewed.
