Racing History for XK120 required

My father has recently died and has left me his jaguar XK120. He bought it in 1970 as a restoration project but never quite finished it. I remember my father saying the car had racing history but cant find any records. I was wondering if anyone on Piston Heads could give me advice on where to look for such information.
There are a couple of well known archivists for XKs.
Firstly you could try going to www.jag-lovers.org and going to the XK forum. On there you will need to register and then try posting a message with the title "Numbers for John" and include the chassis number of the car and any other details you have. You will then almost certainly hear back from John Elmgreen.
