Are you likely to get any sort of classic car insurance on a 10 year old XJR ?

Insurance time again but hoping to get a limited milage/classic policy of some sort.

what kind of mileage do the classic policies allow? and do you have to have another car as your daily driver?

I've only averaged about 4K a year for the last few years, I've sometimes had another car to play with and have just got a MX5 so doubt i'll do much more than 2-3K in it.

Classicline works for me on my 95 Jap not-particularly-classic but used as one.

I think the broker was Sureterm Direct £160 Comprehensive with Europe cover, 3000 miles.

Remember classic policies don't use NCB though... friend of mine nearly came a cropper with that and lost the full NCB by running a daily driver on a classic policy for a bit.

I had mine insured with Peter Best, the cost for ridiculous, £150 or thereabouts. However it couldn't be your 'daily driver', didn't know you could get classic policies on your main car, I thought that was the point of them!

Hi

I thought cars had to be 15 years or older to be able to be insured on a classic policy ?

Is your R on a w/x plate ?

If i'm wrong please could you let me know thank you

Yes, you're wrong.

It is down to the insurance company in question.

My W-plate XJ8 is ensured on a classic policy with Footman James. 3000 miles per annum, second car.
