Hi all,
I should be off this week to look at an 2006 XK convertible. WIth my car the dealer says it should be a straight swap, this is the one.

The milage is low (24000), but is there anything I should be paying special attention to when looking at the car?

Many thanks

James.

Nice car. It has the lux sport interior which is a good find on an XK. All you need is to buy some 20' Senta alloys off eBay or somewhere and it will look fantastic. The larger alloys don't compromise the ride on this Jag.

Make sure the touchscreen works to operate all functions. The main thing to check is whether it has any damage history. The aluminum body needs professional experienced repair. Look at the service history stamps & call the previous dealers. Get it HPI'd, check the paperwork yourself. Of course full Jag service history would be v important.

Enjoy.

Many thanks for the reply Triple7.

Gives me a checklist of things to look at now.

I'll have a good look through the service history checking history of damage.

I will look into some larger wheels too. maybe do an exchange with the 19's

James.

Stick to OEM alloys. http://www.elitewheels.co.uk/Alloys/Jaguar-XK---XF...

TBH, you won't find much wrong with these cars. It's not a launch '06 example which had a few teething issues.

They do look lovely those wheels.

After a think I decided to put a deposit down. It was a stunning bit of kit. in the 24000 miles its got 5 service stamps all on time. The touch screen all works fine and the roof, all the other electrics checked out. The seats and the interior are all in great condition.
I have been through the service history too checking for damage, all checks out. There was a HPI check presented to me too which all check out.

Loved the test drive too. Roof down in the middle of birmingham, people seem to love the car, and I don't think I'll ever get bored of that sound cool

Collection is thursday, I'll be sure to post up some pictures.

heres a few from the day, one is of the seat bolsters, hardly a scratch.

The ivory leather is always harder wearing than the black on Jags.

Congrats, you have a cracking car there.
