I have a friend who is looking to part ex his 2007 56 plate Audi rs4, done 77k average condition full Audi service history. Black with black.

He has been offered 14k as trade in which seems a little low / or might be spot on, can someone in the trade let me know what the book price on it would be ?

He is not a car guy

Thanks

Surely 56 means the car was first registered in 2006, meaning it's 5 years old instead of 4? wink

However, wouldn't a quick browse in the classifieds at similar age/mileage cars answer this for you?

It can be registered in 2007 and be a 56 plate...

Sounds about right to me, they'd probably sell it for 18

He must have some interest, that quite a motor for someone not into cars.

Glasses guide for 07/56 saloon 77k miles:
Trade Retail
Basic Value £20,200.00 £23,700.00
Mileage Adjustment -£4,102.00 -£3,752.00
Extra Options £0.00 £0.00
Dealer Adjustments £0.00 £0.00
Adjustments Subtotal -£4,102.00 -£3,752.00
Adjusted Value Total £16,098.00 £19,948.00
Basic value for December 2011 £20,200.00
Basic value for November 2011 £20,825.00
Difference -£625.00

Seems a bit harsh but a big petrol engine at a quiet time with a book drop around the corner (did £625 last month). Mileage hits it hard too...

Avant:
Trade Retail
Basic Value £21,100.00 £24,600.00
Mileage Adjustment -£5,605.00 -£5,255.00
Extra Options £0.00 £0.00
Dealer Adjustments £0.00 £0.00
Adjustments Subtotal -£5,605.00 -£5,255.00
Adjusted Value Total £15,495.00 £19,345.00
Basic value for December 2011 £21,100.00
Basic value for November 2011 £21,525.00
Difference -£425.00

Interestingly, Avant higher to start with but hit harder for miles...

Incredible. No interest in cars, wants the best 'small' estate and ends up with an RS4?

Dealer must have been laughing his head off??!

Lives in a different world "financially" to most of us probably less than a weeks salary for him.

Agreed quiet time of the year to be selling + big engine, it's the same for us M// owners frown

I'd love a RS4 Avant but aren't the running costs much higher than a equalivant M//???

Blimey, that is a LOT of car for £14k.

So much so that I'm genuinely considering PM'ing you.

But anyway, I've moved it here to the Audi forum, there's a few more knowledgable Audi-specific chaps in here that will help a bit more perhaps smile

My boss has got a 56 plate RS4 for sale with 80,000 miles on the clock - he wanted to test the water at £20,450. All he got was traders offering him £15-17,500 'cash'.

I told him to take the £17,500 but he didn't. It's still for sale.....

It doesent seem like a great offer it is pretty average condition though so I suspect there is 2/3 k to make it smart again

Thanks

If it's got full service history and nothing majoir that needs doing, I would have thought it would be a very easy private sale at £17k

Refurb wheels, new brakes and tyres I assume if they're needed, maybe the odd scratch touch up and tax I guess £2k comes quite easily, but indeed - it does sound quite low.

You'd think that but miley/scruffy RS4s don't sell at all well in my experience. They're massively sensitive to condition, mileage and colour.

Not really kicking him too hard with a low bid then.
