ok, had a play about on a friends Audi Navigation Plus in his S4 earlier today and have decided to get one of these for my A3

just want to know, are they easy to fit

and are they model specific and is it possible for a reasonably tech minded person to fit it themselves

not planning on paying £1200 for a new one but can see they go for around 250 -400 on ebay

Nav Plus on an 8P. Yes it can be done but make sure you get one for an A3 as the bezel is a different shape on the A4/6 ones and hence wont fit an A3 dash. You'll also need the GPS unit and the car will need coding to work correctly using VAGCOM. Also there is a newer model RNS-E with a piano black surround on the screen, this has a higher res screen better maps and will take SDHC cards for mp3 whereas the old only takes up to 4gb SD cards.

Is it possible to install this system to a 2004 Audi A3 ?

(Sorry for minor hijack).

Yes, but depending on whether you have the Symphony head unit its easy straightforward plug in and go, if you have the single DIN concert you have to replace the climate unit and fit the Double DIN cradle to fit the Nav unit in.

My Dad got the Audi Sat Nav for his S3. Should be around £500 for the unit
