A poor chap on my road has just been driven up the kerb by a mentalist coming the other way.

His tyre burst (inch long hole) and rim is kaput. His spacesaver tyre is also not inflating, really not sure why.

He isn't covered by AA/RAC etc and only needs to get 2 miles home.

Does anyone know what other car wheels will fit? It is a 2011 Audi A6 Avant 3.0 diesel. My Mrs has a Mk4 Golf but I don't think her 15'' will go over the Audi's big disks.

Thanks for any help.

I'd imagine it'll fit over the rear brakes, though it may be entirely the wrong size. Would be ok-ish for the 2 miles if it's not on a driven wheel

If it's a Quatro I'd probably make sure the rolling radius is exactly the same as I hear that the diff will be none too pleased to have one wheel smaller than the other three!

If the wheels do fit on the brakes you could swap them with the ones on the Golf and he could get home on those. Seems an effort though!

Sadly (for him) I'm a bit limited on time and have already delayed leaving for half an hour. The best I can really do is drop a wheel off for him and leave him to it.

Thanks for the link, really helpful to have in the favourites!

If the rim and tyre are already f*cked, just drive the 2 miles home on the knackered wheel with hazard's on. Obviously don't use a motorway or fast road etc. but otherwise....................
