Have just had front seats stolen from outside house in Fulham. Has anyone else actually got an insurance company to replace and not write off car?

The buckets in my B8 RS4 appear to be identical to the ones I had in my B7. I'm sure the dealer could supply B8 seats as a replacement to avoid writing the car off assuming the fixing points are the same (they appear to be)

Think I read that the seats were £20k a pair and only came as a box of bits and not pre-assembled; that together with the damage caused when removing is writing quite a few off over the last couple of months.

Let them write it off, buy back, replace wth a set of Recaro CS or pole positions or something?

Really ? I'm not sure where you got that from, as my understanding from the dealer was that it was nearer £5k a pair, but that's assuming they're available
As said above, I;m sure B8 seats are basically the same, and I;m sure they're available

Just put some normal posh A4 seats back in? They're comfier, they won't get pinched, and you won't have to write the car off.

Ordering B8 seats was a great idea but we are up against the same problem. Can only be supplied as box of bits. You simply cannot order a whole seat. The price of parts alone will top 14k. Am pushing Audi UK at increasingly high level but am not optimistic. The catch 22 of buying back the car having had it written off is because it then becomes a high write off category and my same insurance company , and others, will not insure it! It is all beginning to look like a terrible waste. Preparing a media ststorm and shaming Audrian Flux and Audi

I really feel for you OP - as well as having the issue of theft, your having to go through the challenges of insurance. Good luck and I hope you get yourself sorted soon.

What is it with RS cars? I quite like the thought of an RS3, however would turn into a nervous wreck worrying about the car being harvested for it's parts.. Crazy!

Hi, I had the front seats and steering wheel stolen from my rs4 2 days ago from outside my house. Pro job, passenger driver window pulled out (not smashed) and no damage to interior of the car bar the interior light which has the alarm sensors I guess. Be keen to join forces with you in taking on Audi uk. My car was mint and to have it potentially written off is outrageous.

If I ever buy an RS4 I'd do this straight away. I wouldn't be surprised the scum that steal the seats buy the salvage, refit the seats and sell it on.

'I can get you a set of seats cheap, honest mate' 'two weeks later: ' I got a set from eBay of all places!' Next post says 'my seats got stolen last week'?

This happened to a good friend of MissB's B8 RS4 while parked in London overnight a few months back.
The police said it was a common occurrence frown

Prob looking at a couple of grand in import duty & VAT if they have them in stock so around £10k.

I doubt the insurance would pay out that much?

Wouldn't be surprised if all/any stock Audi had was sold to the OEM+/retrofit outfits.
