B7 RS4 - EPC and Engine Management Light on?
Discussion
Morning all!
I'm hoping someone can please give me a clue as to what could be going on here.
My car 64,500 mile RS4 had the EPC come on during a PistonHeads Run earlier today.
The light stayed solidly on after the car was switched off.
Arrived at a breakfast venue - 2 hours later I started the car and the EPC is still on, but now with engine management light, too.
The car starts, idles and runs just fine - I did notice when the EPC came on my revs were limited to 6,800rpm. It was after I felt this that I saw the EPC light on.
I nursed the car home OK.
After chatting with some people on at the Run, emissions sensor of some kind was the general conclusion.
Could anyone with some RS4 specific knowledge perhaps lead me in the right direction for when I phone the garage tomorrow.
After taking it easy home without issue, would it be necessary to recover the car, so drive it in myself?
Any thoughts would be most welcome.
Thanks in advance,
Darren

I'll be sure to ask, Dr G
The car was dropped off at the bodyshop today for some long-awaited and planned paint work (obviously it won't be driven while there).
Lights on, it behaved going there although it did hunt at idle on a cold start until the choke adjusted itself.
It will be picked up in a week and straight to Audi.
Thank you all again for the suggestions

Just a bit of an update for those who may have wondered.....
The car was dropped off on Friday and I've just heard that a solenoid failure for the inlet flap was blame.
However sad it is, I won't be taking the aforementioned free power route, so the old girl is having the faulty item replaced
Thank you all again for your input
