How to find out the colour code of my mk4 Golf?

Hi, I have a 2000 mk4 4motion in silver. 2 different silvers in the range and cant find my code anywhere. Normally there is a sticker in the spare wheel well but that has faded badly so unreadable. My handbook is m.i.a so a bit stuck.
Any ideas where else it could be or is it a call to VW.

Unless anyone can help i'd say a call to VW is probably your best bet

Can it be got from the VIN?

Just call up VW with the VIN or reg number and they will be able to tell you.

In the boot, on the spare wheel well, should be a sticker as thus:



Circled in red is the paint code. What colour is it by the way?

In his original post he says it's faded so much he can't read it.
