My A3 has developed a fault where the rear wiper and both front and rear washers have stopped working. I've checked the fuses and they are OK. Is there a relay which controls all these functions and where is it?

Cheers

Rear wiper water runs through the motor and it's a known problem that this eventually fails needing a new motor (around £100 fitted IIRC)

Haven't heard of any issues with front wipers before though so might be something else

The front wipers are OK, but both the front and rear screen washers have stopped working and I can't hear the pump running. I thought there must be some connection as all the faults started at the same time.

The same pump supplies water to both front and rear.

Yes, the motor drives one way for the front and the reverse for the rear

Have you recently fitted HIDs. Look over on Audi-sport.net and you will see fitting HIDs cause havoc with the wipers.

Otherwise possibly something gone in the back/forward motion of the switch.

I I haven't fitted hids, but the switch sounds a possibility. Cheers

Disconnect the washer motor and check if it is seeing any voltage when the washer lever is pulled - that narrows down whether it is the motor or not.
