Hi all, i wanted a ibiza fr pd130 but they are ridiculously overpriced.

So im going to get a pd100 DAB ibiza so still has the alloys etc.

Will this engine easily map to 130? And whats the reliability of the 100 like in comparison to the 130??

It has 80,000 miles on it

Getting 130HP from a 100HP turbocharged diesel engine is fairly easy to do.

May I suggest speaking to your friendly local independent engine remapping centre.

Drive the 100hp.

They go quite well.

They do remap but have a different conrod and other bits.

I never bothered with ours, great little car. Check fore/aft play in front wheels due to failed voided bishes.

Are they faster than the quoted 10.8 to 60?

Seriously, who cares about 0-60 in the real world?

It's a diesel shopping trolley with OK handling, nice fat mid range and 58mpg.

We had one for 100k miles. One of the best cars we have owned.

Go have a drive of one. If you what to remap, traction control will be a must.

If they are it's not by a big amount. I ran a tuning box on my Fabia which gave it a bit more zing, although even with that it was never going to set the world alight. The engine was quite nice, if a bit agricultural, and would return 50mpg even when used and abused. Disappointingly, it was the rest of the car that fell apart around it.

Sadly - I wanted to like the new Skoda brand, but the car didn't live up to the hype and it was the least reliable/worst car I've owned (and I've owned Land Rovers and Fiats!).

As I said, though, the engine never missed a beat wink

The PD100 engine is supposed to be pretty good. Remapping it to 130 will reduce the life of some components but I believe that the majority of the parts are the same as those fitted to the PD130s.

I had an Ibiza Sport 100 way back in 2006 and it was an excellent car, good luck.

I had that engine and a Golf up to 130/140k ish (can't remember now). No problems with it and it went well once moving.

10sec or so 0-60 is about right, but I never do standing starts.

Darkside located in Barnsley are the guys for diesel tuning if you want that route, engine should be good although not familiar with the 100 more the 130/150pd's so don't know if clutch may be an issue after a map or not
