Hi

08 facelift audi a4.

SD card 2 and 4gb (4 gb appears to be the "unofficial" limit the these headunits support) both work plays mp3's fine etc. etc and both different premium brand sd cards...

BUT...then turn car engine off/radio off and then back on and it says "unreadable"

Eject the sd card and it re-try and it reads them fine (nothing to do with the seating of the sd card it's always a "flush" fit).

?????????

I can't find the post but is there a software update for the headunit - if so where/how do I get this?

Thanks

Mike

no.. got the right card got both 2gb and 4gb

the card works fine then turn radio off and back have to eject and re-seat it back in it works all fine... 100%.

If it doesn't like the card then it wouldn't play it all (logically I presume) - nothing to do with the formatting of it either.

thanks

RNSE is a little bit fickle sometimes; there are a few little bits that go wrong with them but the single most common fault is a dusty/dirty laser. Maybe the same thing with your SD readers?

Try a quick blast with an air duster or if you wanted to clean it properly they're fairly easy to strip.

Could try a reset on it too and see if that helps.

if yours is B8 A4 then it should most definitely work with SDHC cards - I had 32GB in mine and worked fine.

hi

s4tronic please tell me the brand of 32gh sdhc - i know i am being pedantic but would rather buy a tried a tested one.

dr g - got an air duster - can give that a go.

How do i reset the radio? - take it no codes are required ? like the old school cd factory fit players that needed a pin to start working again?

Thank u both.

So just to be sure we are talking about same system I have got MMI 3g (high) with HDD nav and 2sd card slots.

Card I used was
PNY - Professional Class 10 SDHC Memory Card - 32GB

But I also used Class 10 Sandisk extreme micro SD in the adapter.

Same here, used lots if different cards, mostly 16g sdhc Kingston ones.

Biggest problem is the 3000 track limit....

2008 would only accept upto 4GB non SDHC cards, 2009/10 onwards I believe have newer software that will accept upto 32gb SDHC cards. You can get yours updated from Audi but I was quoted £150+. As the SD cards were only a stop gap for me for getting AMI fitted, I just bought a new concert cd player brand new for £200 (my old one wasn't compatible with AMI as it didn't have the "media" button

edit: Just read you have MMI while I am talking about Concert Radio. I'm not sure if it has a bearing on limits, although my info may help someone else :-)
