Audi Q5 2.0TDI Differential Pressure Sensor Coding!
Discussion
Hi Folks,
I have a 2010 Audi Q5 2.0TDI (170).
The Emission Control Light recently illuminated and I have just done a scan with a Ross-Tech VCDS cable.
3 Faults Found:
4914 - Diesel Particle Filter; Differential Pressure Sensor
P2453 00 [096] - Implausible Signal
Intermittent - Not Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear
5182 - Particulate Trap Bank 1
P2002 00 [096] - Efficiency Below Threshold
Intermittent - Not Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear
5262 - Diesel Particle Filter; Differential Pressure Sensor
P2454 00 [175] - Short to GND
MIL ON - Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00000001
Fault Priority: 2
Fault Frequency: 126
Mileage: 156612 km
Date: 2000.00.00
Time: 00:00:00
The DPF soot levels are low so I don't think I have a problem there.
It looks pretty clear to me it the Differential Pressure Sensor. It seems fairly painless with an electronic plug and two pipes from the exhaust. I have located the part online:
http://www.audiparts...051C_059906051C
My questions is when fitting a new unit do I need to perform ‘Adaption’ on the new model with VCDS or is it just fit / clear the fault codes and away you go….?
And if I do need to do 'adaption' how the hell do you do it?
Sorry for the numpty questions but I’m still learning this VCDS stuff
Cheers,
Lee.

Well its fixed! and far easier than I expected.
The replacement sensor from the Audi dealer was £61.38 and the part number was slightly different to the one I listed above (059906051A rather than 51C), but nevertheless correct based on the actual vehicle VIN.
10mins to fit and the VCDS adaptation for the new sensor was even easier, literately select 'DPF differential Sensor adaptation' from a drop down selection menu and hit 'Go'! 5 seconds later I get the 'successful' message!
So now I have no warning lights and no faults, and even better I'm feeling smug because I fixed myself

hi mate i have the same prob on my a3 i got the dpf sensor code but like you have to adapt it after fitting..i can get the part from audi and fit it for 54 quid but i dont have the vcds software to do the adaption short of taking to the steelers to get ripped off...can you put me onto anyone with the software who wud help me
Well you have at least three options;
1)Buy the Ross-Tech SW and lead - Circa £260
2)Fit the part and then find a local Audi independent to do the quick VCDS adaptation for you - I guess this would be no more than £30
3) Post you approximately location (your town) and see if any local PistonHead'ers can help you out..!
Good luck!
Ps.Who read the fault codes the first time around to determine the problem was the pressure sensor..?
