Audi R8 V10 Clutch Replacement?
Discussion
Hi Guys
I've got a 2010 R8 V10 Spyder.
Mileage 7k
Driven fairly hard for past couple of thousand miles... anyway it seems as if the clutch/flywheel is on the way out.
Anything more than 30% of full throttle the car "seems to come out of gear" and just free revvs with no increase in actual speed... Not having this before sounds like a clutch.
I did some research and was pretty alarmed at the prices...
Can anyone recommend any solutions or cheaper than Audi for replacing...
Thanks

It's a big old job, most of the back of the car, exhausts etc. comes off completely and the box pulled out from the top.
Parts prices are going to be much the same everywhere but you could probably reduce labour by a good slice going to a specialist; there are at least a couple with the tooling for an R8 clutch (there's a couple of gangly special tools from Audi).

Not that it is of much use to you, but here's a thread describing the process by someone who did it themselves.

Have you spoken to Audi UK re some goodwill contribution?
If my GTR had burnt its clutches in 7k, I would be saying they cannot be fit for purpose - have you tried this?
Also, any possibility of a fluid leak onto the clutch causing the issue? Again I would be looking for a goodwill contribution if so.

Depends a lot on where it was bought from, who has done the servicing and in any case the OP has already admitted to driving it "hard" and was his own fault anyway.....doubt Audi will want to add anything to it.If my GTR had burnt its clutches in 7k, I would be saying they cannot be fit for purpose - have you tried this?

If Audi good will doesn't work you could try APS at Brackley: http://www.autops.co.uk/
Used them myself for smaller work and always hear good things about their service and work.
