GOLF MK 5 REAR DOOR HANDLE THUMB TRIM ASSEMBLY

Hi all,

so I have a 2006 Golf MK5 1.9 tdi…all going very well indeed…..until after work one day I noticed the rear drivers door handle was missing the thumb cap cover from the handle but not only that the entire assembly it sits on which slides in to the door handle was missing!!!!! NOOOOOOOO! anybody know where I can buy another???

Seen a few like this and mine is starting to feel loose. Odd as I thought the same handle was used in a lot of cars and it only seems to be the Mk5 Golf with this issue

The only reason they would come loose would be if they were fitted incorrectly. The mechanism that holds them in can become misaligned, the screw can still be tightened giving the impression that the cap is locked in place. If this occurs the door card or skin would have to come off to try rectify the mechanism.
