Hello there! A virgin poster and newbie here...

I have just bought an 'old banger' (Wedding coming, it was that or sell my Esprit) in the form of an A4 Quattro 2.6 and I am looking for info on how to connect my laptop to the onboard diagnostics. I have found the connector, so where can I get a cable and software? Any ideas?

Could also do with a manual too. Tootled off to Halfwits and the Haynes manual does not cover V6 or Quattro models - how useful is that then? Bought a CD one off eBay only it was about as much use as a chocolate fire guard. Where can I get a decent one that covers this model?

Any help or advice greatly appreciated!

Rob Tomlinson.

The connection you need is called vag-com, but is about £600.

VAG-COM is the software. Have a look at vag-com.co.uk or Rosstech websites

Surely not? You can download Vag-com as shareware for free and register it for $100, plus whatever cable you need for your car.

If your car was sold in the US then maybe the 'Bentley' manuals would be of use?
