a4 b8 throttle body replaced now another issue p2015
Discussion
Hi got diags run on car throttle body needed replacing. So swapped out . same light re appeared on dash twice even after replacing.
Car has 160000 FSH no loss of power everything ok. The part to now replace would be v157 intake flap motor £450 ! So having already spent £260 on a throttle body and the fault code changing I am loathe to spend anymore money. Do the throttle body and v157 tend to go at the same.time ? Thanks all

Hi Daz apologies for not replying sooner and being confused between v157 / and throttle body part...
Mods I don't like linking to other forums but I am at a loss as to what to do next,
exact new error code is
7859-p2015 intake manifold flap position sensor (bank 1) implausible signal -mechanical failure.
http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/... -
This is exactly what's happened to me, the fix for this guy is unknown - the part marked blue in the post I believe is what has been replaced on my car - throttle body.
Car has been serviced regularly and drives fine, and only other "history" to car is that it has had egr sensor replaced (I think) 20,000 miles ago and a forced dpf regen - 20,000 miles ago.
They have used a 3rd party throttle body from euro car parts but it's the same brand that audi use - vdo/siemens.
They also said they found excessive build up on intake manifold flap - "may require new intake flap or intake manifold" was their comment
further searching on other forums brings up this
http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/...
Which would suggest I may need a new intake manifold.
or..
http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/54267...
"The main problem is that the arm controlling the flap starts to jam hence the fault reading." - forgive my ignorance but I don't know which part is being cleaned here - apologies.
The question I ask which I appreciate maybe difficult to answer is would it be likely that only 1 of the parts was originally faulty, or would both parts (throttle body & intake manifold) of "gone" wrong at the same time.
Many thanks for any info.

Hi
I think the exact answer to my problem is intake manifold flap.
After having time to re-read all other posts and not being a mechanic my error code is identical to this
http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/54267...
error code - 7859 - Intake Manifold Flap Position Sensor (Bank 1) .
I will try and get the fix applied, but I am still curious as to whether a whole new throttle body was originally required.
Thoughts anyone?
