Golf R - obstructive 5th gear - anyone have the same issue?
Discussion
Hi,
I have a Golf R with about 4,000 miles on the clock. It's a manual.
The 5th gear has always been obstructive since new. Sometimes the problem is there only a little bit, but sometimes it requires a bit of a shove to get it into 5th gear. When it's only a slight problem, you might call it "notchy", but when it's at its worst, I would call it "obstructive".
Does anyone else have this problem with their's?
Perhaps it's a dodgy gear linkage problem?
I have left a message at the VW dealers at Benfield Scottswood Road in Newcastle to ask for a mechanic to ring me back. Let's see if they ring me back. I couldn't even get through at Benfield Silverlink.
Thanks all.
