Hi,

I'm looking at getting one of these in petrol 2.0t Quattro S line spec, and I wondered if any fellow piston heads folk had any advice or experience of these models.

I'm looking at 59/10 plates but I've heard of some issues regarding the belt/chain tensioners, is there any sure fire way of telling whether these have been updated with better parts?

I only cover about 7,000 miles a year and I will be looking to remap the car for a bit of extra poke.

Any other advice and views would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mat

Hi Mat, chain tensioner failure is rare but more common is excessive oil consumption.

Audi have a fix for this but it's quite extensive surgery involving new pistons and rings.

Speak to the dealer(s) that have serviced the car to be sure what it has/has not received or needed.

Thanks Dr G is there anything else I need to look for? It seems like the A5 comes with better standard equipmemt than th A4, is that the case?

Thanks

Slightly different as I was looking at 2014 A4 and A5 sportback S lines, only difference was standard nav in the A5 and leather armpads on the A5, everything else was the same
