Audi A4 Avant 2.0T (B7) or Skoda Octavia vRS Estate (Mk2)?

OK the B7 Audi A4 Avant 2.0T was my first choice but the other option is a Mk2 Skoda Octavia vRS estate (petrol).

Anyone owned both or able to give me a good comparison?

Imagine very similar but I have the mk2 vrs petrol estate with dsg. It's been one of the best cars we have ever owned...

A friend has a A4 Avant and I have a vRS hatch. I prefer his A4 but it is not worth the extra cost over the vRS, unless the Audi 4-rings really matter to you.

Wife swapped her Mk1 vRS estate for the A4 Tdi S Line Avant. Looked at Mk2 vRS Tdi or the then new Mk3. She decided to spend a similar amount of money to that of a second-hand Mk2 vRS, but on an slightly older, low mileage, A4. It was just a nicer place to be for the slog up the motorway. In comparison to my GTI, it's a big bus, wider than the Mk1.
