As per the title really, the story, bought my Audi A4 avant black edition from a VW main dealer last year, amongst other things they offered me a good deal on their 'service plan' so I took it, 1 year later (this week)it gets booked in for a major service and its first MOT, well I was shocked to find they had all 3 wiper blades down as advisory due to rips/tears, that's all well and good but for £210 and the fact its a major should they be included? Ok its only 3 wipers so the cost will be minimal I know but are they a service item?

No, they are wear and tear items, such as tyres and brakes.

No, cambelt either; it is a recommendation.

11 and 56k is not the correct age or mileage for a cambelt change.

Wouldn't a timing be;t be "scheduled maintenance" rather than a service item

2.0 tfsi a4 avant 2011 should be chain driven, not belt. No recommended replacement interval AFAIK.

VW's own service plan doesn't even include changing the brake fluid anymore, and the dealer one certainly won't. It's not a scheduled service item apparently - despite the service schedule saying it should be changed every 2yrs. rolleyes

When in 2011? Do you know about the excess oil consumption issue?

Any 2011 2.0T A4 will be chain driven unless it was registered 3 years late wink

60k or 5 years for the belt driven units, yours as pointed out by others is chain driven which should last the lifetime of the engine (or until it stretches and ends the engines life) biggrin

As a few people have said already wipers are just a wear a tear item as the rubber when hit by u.v rays it starts to deteriorate eventually cracking just like tires as for a timing belt that is due to age and milage of the vehicle in question.
