I am on the verge of pulling the trigger on an S4 Avant Black Edition. Only options are pan roof, diff and drive select.

I am a bit unsure on colour and wheel choice. I want it to look special and not like a diesel s-line.

So far thinking standard black (I did consider misano red / sepang blue) but with the silver wheels rather than the default dark grey. Any thoughts appreciated!

It's a shame you can't spec the 'V' spoke Black Edition wheels on the S4, they look good! I'd have the Rotar wheels.

Hugely difficult with an S4, but the 'under-the-radar' looks are a big part of the appeal to me.

Problem is, all the black edition cars look basically the same. Look for used Audi A4's and most of the diesel black editions have the 19" rotors.

If special looks are that important, you really need an RS4 - or an "exclusive" colour. The only obvious S4 distinguishers are the fake aluminium mirror covers and the unnecessary number of exhaust pipes.

Colour-wise, I love black cars, but they're impossible to keep clean.

Sepang Blue with the segment spoke wheels.

But I would say that because that's what I have on order for July delivery. cool

Seconded, though personally I'd probably just spec whatever was cheapest and replace them with something aftermarket as all VW Group wheels are pretty ugly these days.

B. S.

VAG remain the absolute masters of this. Find me a 19 year old with a MK4 Golf that doesn't want the latest Audi/VW/Porsche style.

The majority of aftermarket wheels on a premium car either look totally out of place or very silly unless dangerously low. There are exceptions of course but they're in the minority.

Horses for courses, but the last actually nice wheels that came with a VW or Audi car were the BBS Pescaras on the ED30. The SEAT Sport BBS are nice too, and I suppose the two-piece BBS Speedlines on various Audis were all right too.
