Diagnostic Code Reader for MK4 VW Golf
Discussion
Looking for a relatively simple diagnostic code reader that I can use with my 2001 Golf GTi.
Need functionality such as reading diagnostic codes and being able to reset them.
It has to be a standalone device and not a cable and software setup to use with a laptop.
Quick research suggests an entry level device would be a U280 reader, such as: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/U280-Diagnostic-Code-Rea...
Anyone know what the next level up of device would be and what additional functionality it would give? Also, what kind of cost would it be?

I have used the U281 model on a 2001 gti for years, it reads codes and resets without issue. I just leave it in the glovebox to clear a recurrent minor errorNeed functionality such as reading diagnostic codes and being able to reset them.

Hello there a good friend of mine purchased one off eBay for only 4-5 pounds and it reads codes resets codes and it is able to read turbo boost pressure it is a blue small box just a little bigger than a match box and connects to a smart phone of any kind using Bluetooth and it enables you to read and delete codes accordingly. they are good considering the price hope this helped.
