Golf R - Is sat nav as part of the standard spec?

Hi,

Considering a Golf R, I can't seem to see for certain anywhere if the standard model comes with sat nav, I can see a button on the console that says "Nav" but I've seen a few places that talk about sat nav being an optional extra. If it's not as standard having a button that says "Nav" that does nothing would drive me crazy. So, does it have a basic sat nav as standard but you can upgrade it? Or is that button just there to wind people up?

Yeah the standard head unit looks very similar to the navigation system.

You don't get a NAV button on the standard unit.

It's daft that nav is standard on the GT, GTD, and GTI, but not the R.

As above you dont have the nav button without nav.

It's not on GTD, at least it wasn't last year, or my missus did something weird when speccing hers!

As of like last month nav, keyless entry/start and I think winter pack are now standard on the gtd/i

Yeah, likewise, I don't have nav on mine, but all cars built from week 22 onwards have nav, winter pack and keyless go as standard. The R spec hasn't been revised at all.

Cheers, I can live without sat nav but having a dud button would drive me mental!

I was introduced to an amusing use of 'dud' buttons last week

It's not a dud button, it says SETUP or SOUND on it, can't remember haven't driven my Golf since this morning!
