Retrofit a RNS510 Satnav into a 2015 VW Sharan
Discussion
Hi all,
Just about to take delivery of one of these for the company. We needed one from stock so we could get it in a couple of weeks...but none of the ones in stock had the top spec satnav fitted, which we really wanted. So it's just going to have the base spec radio...RCD310 I think. And no DynAudio thingy either.
I've found lots of companies that will sell the RNS510 OEM sat nav head unit and rear camera .. and fit them if I want them to. However, I like to do these things myself...and I wondered if anyone else on here has done this before? If so, does it connect directly to the existing cables/connectors (plus obviously the additional GPS and camera connections, which apparently come with the kit). Or will I need to cut wires etc?
Thanks,
J.

The camera is difficult because of the wiring but RNS 510 easy to fit,
Will be a straight swap for your current unit and will just require the addition of a GPS antenna, which can live behind the unit or under the dashboard. You might need to get a laptop running VCDS connected to the car to configure the instrument cluster screen to relay the sat nav instructions as it would for a factory system.
