Hi

I've got a 2009 1.6 a3 - does anyone know when the cambelt should be changed? The service book doesn't seem to mention it strangely.

Many thanks

My 2004 1.8T Octavia VRS has just had its first cambelt change at just under 114,000 miles. Might have been pushing my luck a bit...

I think its changed over the years but i always aim for 60k or 4 years. My book states 133k with no time for the 2.0 Tdi engine but id never go that far.

A few years after getting my A3 I got a cambelt change reminder from Audi which was odd given that mine has a chain.

However they must have known something I didn't because a couple of years later the chain failed... hehe

The recc for 8Ps is 5 years or 75,000 miles whichever is sooner I think.

Do you know how long for 8V's as I was wondering the same for my 2013 2.0TDI?

My 2.0TDI (04) handbook states 115k, but has been revised a few times I believe, I rang an Audi dealer on Monday and the current recommendation is 80k/5years.

The Audi dealer in stansted for the 2.0tdi 8P stated 130k or 5 years last week when asked.

Thanks. That seems a very long time!
