VW MK3 Golf GTI (1995) Central Locking Issue
Discussion
Hi there,
I'm having a strange issue with the central locking on my MK3. When you turn the key, the doors lock but the central locking pump doesn't shut off anymore, it just keeps going. It's been fine ever since I bought the car, but this started happening out of the blue. The only way to stop the pump running was to unplug it. The problem occurs regardless of which side you lock the car (driver / passenger) I've looked for a fuse or anything electrical related to the central locking but couldn't find anything. Any suggestions and help to try get this fixed would be greatly appreciated as it's very frustrating

The pump powers the door locking by a system of inter connected vacuum pipes.
One has possibly split or became disconnected, so the pump keeps running.
Follow the pipes from the pump in the boot and it is most likely at tone of the door hinge areas, or in the door.
Hey, thanks for your reply. I checked and all doors, boot and fuel cap lock correctly so i don't think a pipe has come loose. Could it be the pump itself? One has possibly split or became disconnected, so the pump keeps running.
