An example of running costs RS 6 style
Discussion
Firstly, I'd like to say, this isn't a moan, or complaint about dealers, it's just a post giving some information. You read lots of posts by people wanting to buy and run older high spec/ powered models then they get caught up in the running costs. It's not the buying that's expensive, it's the running.
So my C7 RS 6 is 18 months old and has covered 27k miles. The fuel economy has been documented before, but I've managed to average 22mpg over the past 13k miles that I've owned it. That's pretty good I think, given its performance.
My first bill was 2 tyres, 285/35 /21. They were £320 each. Pirelli p zero pncs (foam filled for road noise improvement).
Second bill is front brakes, discs and pads. They've last 27k miles and they are £714+vat for the parts , not sure of fitting cost yet. My local dealer, who is pretty good TBH has said that they've not fitted any yet, so he' s got the book time to change, but if his fitter beats it, he'll just charge me what time it takes.
So there you go, if you want one of these great cars, those are the sort of bills you'll be looking at for certain consumables.
