Hi all,

We ordered a new A4 Avant Black edition a few months ago and we've just been informed we have a build slot - Happy days!!!

Does anyone have any recommendations for options?

We have the following:

Panoramic sun roof
Hill hold assist
Heated front seats

You get lots of options with the Black Edition Nav as well.

This should be the very last 2.0 tfsi Quattro petrol B8, very excited.

Thanks.

Personally I'd pay for that leather/alcantara seat upgrade

The 3.0 supercharged engine with sports diff would be good options. Oh, wait... smile

Because it's S-Tronic I'd skip Hill Hold Assist. I had a 2.0TFSI manual for 4 years, and HHA was brilliant, so I added it to my S4 spec and feel it's a waste of time:

With S-Tronic, and HHA on, you cruise to a halt with your foot on the brake. HHA kicks in, applying brake pressure, and start/stop switches off the engine - Great! So, you remove your foot from the brake - and stop-start immediately restarts the engine... So you either defeat the purpose of HHA by keeping your foot on the brake and dazzling everyone with your pretty LED rear lights - or you keep the engine running, defeating the point of stop-start.

Storage Pack and Interior Lighting Pack are well worth it. Your glovebox will thank you.

If the S-Line Leather/Alcantara seats are anything like the S4 ones, I'd recommend them.

Also, consider extended warranty if you're planning to keep the car - and make sure you get the same discount percentage on any options you add.

If you're doing much motorway driving, adaptive cruise would be a good option to have.

Agreed on HHA, good on a manual but apart from the above, an S-Tronic will hold itself as you come off the brake anyway

I really like hold assist with an auto and tend to have start/stop turned off anyway. It works nicely.

Surely you mean the new B9 and not B8? If not I would seriously check out the pre-release road tests on Youtube, it looks like a major step forward from the B8 and you may regret not hanging on for one. I have an RS4 and love the roof, HHA is useful and at £65 no big deal, good luck mate.

The OP was pretty clear it's a B8.

And good car though the B9 may well be, I'd bet a similarly specced one to the OP's would cost £10K more than the outgoing B8, given that finance deals and discounts are unlikely to be available for a while.

thats odd(/or just different by model), as my C7 with HHA and Start/Stop lets me take my foot off the brake and the engine stays stopped. I'm able to feather the throttle to get the engine back to life prior to having the brake release.

That's exactly how I want it to work. What's the gearbox in your C7 - S-tronic or something else?

Pano Roof does impact on headroom somewhat. If you're a beanpole like me make sure you get to drive a car with one before you tick the box.

I couldn't find a pano roof car to look at, so that option went unticked.

Not sure if Audi are the same as VW but with VW as soon as your build slot is confirmed you are locked out of changing options?

Hey all,

Yes a B8, we could of held off for a newer model but managed close to 10k discount, so this made the most sense financially.

A used A4 black edition with a few thousand miles cost more than our new.

With the Black edition we managed to get the Sepang blue.

A 3.0 s4 would be nice, but already have a E92 M3, so a 2.0tfsi will be plenty for the wife.

From the sounds of it you all agree on the Pano roof, great to hear and good point that if it's being built can I actually make changes. The interior is half leather and cloth, I couldn't afford full leather and my wife didn't like the suede interior, so cloth it is.

Thanks for all the input guys, will post pics when built, it should be a good colour combination.
