Audi S6 V10 First Gear Electronic Limiting of power

Does anyone know if the S6 uses some form of electronic limiting of power in first gear.

I have disabled the ESP and ASR tried manual mode and "S" mode and it just does not feel like it is delivering as much power as when it is in second gear

It is more like 300 bhp in first the only thing I can think of is a different engine map is used for first where as in second it really feels like the 435.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I think this is fairly common, presumably to save you replacing the drivetrain every other week

iirc, its limited in second too.

most remaps remove this limitation, which is why a remapped car "feels" a little faster

also, remember that the power band is really from about 3k rpm upwards on the s6
