Bargain buy vRS,...... Hopefully.
Discussion
Bought this last week as a stablemate to my TVR and daily driver.

The evening photos with and ipad don't do it justice.
It has uprated suspension, lowered 20 mm, Wolfrace pro light wheels with continental tyres, stiffer anti-rollbars, Milteck SS exhaust system and in generally unmarked metallic black condition.
I believe it must have been mapped in the past as it really does go well even compared it to my TVR.
I will take it to Surrey rolling road this week to check exactly what it is doing.
I have only done about 150 miles in it this weekend but so far everything works, air-conditioning, electric sunroof and all the usual stuff.
It is high mileage but drives as tight as a drum.
Roll on the wet track days!

Looks tidy, that
Getting a rare sight these days. Presume you're aware of common potential issues around oil pick ups etc?
They do remap well - wouldn't be too surprised if it was running over 200bhp, depending on supporting mods to cooling or turbo
I'm a home garage expert on my Chimaera but know little about these.

I am all ears as to problems/upgrades/issues etc.
I had another MK1 about 5 years ago for a short while, had it mapped to allegedly 225 by Angel Tuning iirc, increased the mid range considerably!
We used to have the later BAM 225 engine in a Leon Cupra R 10 years ago - I believe all iterations of the 4 cylinder petrol turbo can suffer from extended oil changes restricting the ability of the oil pump to drag oil around the engine. I'm sure Dr G or someone more knowledgable will confirm if this model is at risk. I believe sump removal and a good clean is recommended. Am sure the owners club forum will have info if it's a potential issue.
I always thought these were an easy map to 250ish, but think the slightly smaller turbo and restricted intercooler mean it can't quite get there without supporting mods that are easy to spot. Certainly our LCR would map to 250 but it had the higher output to start with. Only thing you needed with that was a more robust inlet hose as the factory one started to try and suck itself into the engine with more boost!

Thanks for the info.
Looks like a job in the next few weeks.
I have already booked a TD for November so should investigate before then, maybe a cam belt and water pump as well as not sure when it was last done.
I think I'll leave the belt etc to my son, (currently swaning in Bali) as he works as a mechanic for VW in Coulsdon!
