Regarding the above post title from a short while ago, I bought an s4 (against the respected advice of you guys on here) and I must say I'm over the moon with it, the advice I received was very similar to the reviews I read so therefore very accurate and I sort of get the point to the negative advice towards these cars, however I must say I'm over the moon with it, I love the low end grunt and torque you get from the v8 that the M3 lacks (which is what I used to own), I think the ride is softer than the m3 and slightly more comfortable despite advice saying it was too harsh and regarding the advice of the chronic under steer, well I'm 45 years old and have a family to drive around so I'll never go around a corner fast enough to notice, so not applicable. I just find the engine so smooth, gear change is great, pulls hard at low revs in every gear and the faint rumble I get when I put my foot down is fantastic. I agree dynamically the M3 is a better car in every way, however there is nothing wrong at all with the Audi if you aren't worried too much about handling and just want to get from A to B with lots of power when you fancy it, any one agree with these comments??

I agree, I miss my b6 vintage, but 1st child forced sale 2 years ago. A nice saloon will be on the radar in a couple of years once the 2nd ichild s no longer in a buggy. Only regret was not upgrading the exhaust.

Congratulations. My B6 Avant has served me very well since having kids and I can't see it being replaced anytime soon. It's no sports car but it makes a nice sound and has a decent turn of speed.

I checked the fuel cap again and it says 95 minimum, recommend 98 RON.

Enjoy your car.

I'll always be using 99 ron momentum, I have the avant too, so plenty of room in the back, upgrade wise I assume it's basically the same lump as the RS4, so was curious as to what the differences are to give the RS4 more power?

It's not the same as the RS4 engine. The RS4 has direct injection and various other differences.

Over all though I'm pleased with the car, I did buy the car with 1 fault though and that's the air bag light comes on after driving for 10 mins or so, so I need to get that sorted out

Should have mentioned I had the soft top version, hence deciding to sell when baby arrived. In 18 months I did not have to put my hand in my pocket, (apart from SOME fuel) liked my one.

thank you, I'm pleased with it, lovely v8 rumble, reminds me of my old chimaera I used to have, but a tad quieter ;-). anything that could be done to it to compliment a remap if I have it done?

As far as i was aware, you wont gain any huge performance benefits from a NA engine with a remap.

I know you're right, tuners opinion of this does seem to vary though as to how much you can screw out of them but I wondered if there is anything that can be done to it mechanically to maximise a remap?

Just had my s5 remapped by MRC...no huge power gains but the car is a lot better to drive...definitely worth doing.

I'll defiantly go for it but I was wondering if the are any mechanical upgrades that could be done to get better gains? I remember looking I no it with my m3 but that was such a well sorted and finely tuned engine anyway there was little that could be done to those. However these e nines don't seem so well sorted so was just wondering
