Worth a punt for the price but the software connects to their server so will detect it is not genuine, I suppose a hack may be out there somewhere I guess.

Had mine a few years now, useful tool.

It's a Chinese copy of the real thing. You'll get no support or updates.

Is the correct answer. I wouldn't be accessing my cars ecu etc with it.

Ross Tech would sell a shed load more systems if they reduced their price to say £100....

You can get that lead for under £20 from AliExpress.

FWIW they do work, but as said above you get a verion of the software from ~2012 and can't update from that so if plugged into a newer car it won't be able to read/change all the parameters (although still does 95% fine).

Ross Tech are a decent business offering good support, and a good product. Ultimately this benefits us all.

So What I'm saying in a roundabout way, is

STOP BEING A SKINFLINT AND BUY THE PROPER LEAD.

The fact is that the package is way more expensive than most other similar packages for other manufacturers vehicles.

ross tech have the market cornered and I think the reason they are charging so much now is they know they wont be here forever so want to recoup their R&D quickly and get maximise their profit phase.

I can see this situation changing soon though .
