Thoughts, E91 330D to GTI (mk6)

Hi all,
Had my 2006 330d for just over a year, fab car, quick, comfy, etc. but starting to think about mk6 GTIs.
I don't think there's much difference space wise in the cabin (family of 4), obviously the GTI would be a step up tech wise and it would be a DSG car (SWMBO is an auto convert), again a step up from the BMW 6 speed auto.
Driving wise it's probably about 50-60 miles a week urban commute and family taxi jobs with the longer runs at the weekends.

For urban usage the GTI is a great car. When I had mine it was mainly used for runs to the station and back as I was commuting on the train, and social use at the weekend. MPG won't be great but it's good enough for the performance, mid 20s around town rising to mid 30s/ touching 40 on the motorway.
For performance you'll probably find it a close match for the 330d I would expect, but more fun!
