Golf & Tiguan Infotainment MIB II recall

So I've had my new Golf Gti a few weeks now and until recently everything was perfect. Then yesterday the screen in the centre console went blank and rebooted. When it came back on it went to radio and went off again a few seconds later. Now all I get is when I start the car the "welcome to Volkswagen" text and logo appears, radio loads then the screen goes blank again. It does this a few times then seemingly gives up.

Rang my dealer and they informed me there's going to be a recall on brand new Golfs and Tiguans with this system as there's a fault. Leaves me without radio, nav, iPhone connectivity etc until I get the recall fix!

I have the newer MIB II system with standard discover nav and app connect.

Just a heads up if anyone else starts seeing similar behaviour on their car.
