Audi C6 S6 Brake Discs / Pads
Discussion
The usual call from Audi "Sir you brakes are 80% worn they now also send you a video (now tell me how are you supposed verify their assumptions)"
Audi want 600 for front discs and pads
Does anyone have any recommendation for replacement Front discs and pads ? Is it ok to go ECP or the like or anyone else ?
Cheers

I just picked up a pair of Pagid front discs from the ECP Ebay shop for just £142 inc delivery.
This will be my third pair of discs in just 4 years of ownership (last set of genuine discs have lasted almost 3 years including a skim 6 months ago) as they seem to warp for a pass time so im going to get the VW Phaeton brake duct kit fitted at the same time and see if that helps with cooling.
Says they have 2 in stock still - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Pagid-LD21459-P-...

Who are TPS?
Mate has a trade account with ECP so should get a good discount. Got discs front and rear plus pads all pagid from ecp for my alfa gt for 140 quid.
Also managed to kerb a couple of alloys anyone know the paint code ?
on the plus side found a tow bar in the spare wheel space so will see if it fits
And toyo's fitted on the front 230 fitted for 2 from blackcircles
Front ARB droppings changed it really sharpens up the front end

The most common cause of warping is being stationary with red hot brake discs. If you need to keep the brakes on, the section of disc inside the calliper will stay hot whilst the rest of the disc cools quickly. This stresses the disc and it warps. If your journey involves a big brake action and then a stop for any period, such as coming off a motorway up to a busy junction that is on a slope (so needs the brakes kept on), leave an extra car length and then creep into this gap over the next 30 seconds. This allows even cooling and should help to prevent them warping. This will be my third pair of discs in just 4 years of ownership (last set of genuine discs have lasted almost 3 years including a skim 6 months ago) as they seem to warp for a pass time so im going to get the VW Phaeton brake duct kit fitted at the same time and see if that helps with cooling.

I do try and be sympathetic to the brakes in such ways but they just dont last and brake vibration is probably my biggest annoyance when driving. Gassing Station | Audi, Seat, Skoda & VW | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
