Good evening,

Jumped head long into a C5 Allroad 2 weeks ago and was enjoying some very happy motoring until i came out of work this afternoon and the car was on its knees ( well elbows)

I thought this might happen at some stage - so had factored into the purchase price. The compressor is already fixed and under warranty - so it is just the bag that needs replaced.

My question is;

does the shock absorber need replaced along with the air bag? the airbag is leaking around the bottom, the shock absorber wasn't giving any trouble at all.

Any help welcomed!

Yes, you can replace the air spring and keep the shock. I replaced a front air spring with one from here

About half the price of an Audi one.

Thanks Toad - i am not sure if the mechanic is wanting to add extra $$$ to the job.

I just told the guy to go ahead...... 1270e including an oil change.

Ouch....
