I am looking for a TDI DSG Superb estate and have been offered one through a Skoda dealer, which will apparently be coming into stock soon. It is on a '10" plate (Superb Mk2?) 170bhp TDI Elegance estate with DSG and 50,000 miles.

Is there anything I should be looking for at that mileage?

Critically, what sort of things should I be looking to get done as part of the deal? i.e. DSG oil and filter change.

Any tips on striking a deal when purchasing using a PCP scheme?

Is the 2nd hand Skoda warranty alright?

I was sold a car with full service history by a Skoda garage as an Approved Used Vehicle and didn't look through the paperwork for myself. It was a full service history car- but it had 3 owners in 4 years and had been serviced by a variety of independent mobile garages.

The car seemed to be a good 'un anyway so I took it on the chin as a learning experience. (5 years later it's still a good 'un, and I've had it so long now that any impact on its value etc would be negligible). But I would scrutinise the paperwork more carefully if I were to buy another "Approved Used Vehicle" from a dealer.

The DSG oil should've been done at 40,000 miles I think.

Buying used on a PCP is normally a bit expensive.

They are offering a quote competitive APR under 9.0% without even negotiating and a contribution towards the deposit. So the monthly cost is reasonable. Not sure if they negotiate on things like APR and was wondering what others experiences are; so I have an idea of what is achievable / realistic.

Not sure what sort of miles you do but you can lease a new one for circa £160 a month.
