Trouble reading codes - VAG COM

Trying to read the codes on my dad A4 B6 and the only module it reads is the HVAC.

Im using VAG com and know it works cause ive just scanned the codes on my golf and it works fine.

Any ideas why i can't scan my dads car?

Rather not spend another £50 taking to a garage.

I was doing an Exeo the other day and had similar issues, needed to go into each module individually to scan. Running the full auto scan refused to work.

I think ive sussed it.

The cable im using for my golf is k-line and think i need Hex-line for my dads audi, just waiting for the new cable.
