Touareg V10 - would you recommend it?

I've not actually been in one yet to see if I like it, but I'm looking for a car of this type, and am familiar with lots of VW's over the years. The V10 tickles my fancy, and whilst I've read around a lot in terms of some the issues that can be a problem, I'm trying to get recent experience rather than that when they came out 10 years ago

So, anyone currently own one, and would you recommend it?

The engine is superb although I have it in a LWB Phaeton massive torque, 35 MPG on a long run although I guess the aerodynamics of the big SUV may have a negative effect on that. Mine's done 50K miles so only just run in. Make sure the correct VW oil has been used and I understand one of the rubber pipes to the turbo can rot causing an eclipse of the sun.

Tremendous engine but no supercar, handles surprisingly well, but still a big lump. Was fun to surprise a few boy racers. Almost any engine issue seemed to need engina and gearbox out to get space to fix, steering pump and then alternator for me, but gave better mpg than my present brick Disco4. If the price is cheap then it's fun but would I do it again.....maybe.
