SEAT Leon 1.4 EcoTSI 150 FR DSG.

Very much looking forward to my first ever new car and coming back to Petrol. The 150 engine seems to be well liked and drove really well, especially compared to my old 2.0 140 Diesel DSG Audi.

Tried the Skoda, VW, SEAT and Audi versions. Liked the Audi very much but couldn't ignore the SEAT extras, price and looks. Didn't like the VW Golf interior or exterior (sorry) at all. The Skoda was OK, but the SEAT drove better and looks better (to me anyway).

The O/H has a 2.0tdi Ibiza FR. It's been a fantastic car, but now 3.5 years old, it's time to replace. We've ordered the Golf Cabriolet with the 1.4 150 engine. Seems a cracking engine, though down on torque compared to the Diesel.

Yeah nice choice, I test drove one at launch and the new 1.4 TSI is a brilliant engine. Very nippy and responsive compared to the diesels.

I kept trying to see the "better quality" interior of the Golf but I just couldn't see it confused

I thought the SEAT was a much nicer place to be. The Audi was even better.

I've got a 150 ACT manual, very good car. Interior quality not quite as good as the Golf but not far off and perfectly good enough for me. Exterior far more interesting as well.

I'm very much looking forward to it.

To qualify what I said before - I agree the VW quality is slightly better, but I actually preferred the layout and choice of materials in the SEAT (except low down). I didn't like as much the 'shiny plastic' of the Golf on the dash, even though the quality was good. Hope that makes sense.

I'm nervous and excited to be getting a new car for the first time. I'm also leasing for the first time, which will be a different experience. I've never had any car under 30,000 miles and usually far exceeding 50,000.

All I need to decide now is if to get rid of the Audi or the Nissan. I've another thread on that! Audi is high milage (124,000), needs cam belt soon, is more complicated (DSG Diesel etc) but is a good runner. Nissan Note is cheap and cheerful, done 70,000 less miles but I don't like it much!
