I'm thinking about buying an R8 for 6-8 months (I will need 4 seats after that time). Buying one doesn't phase me - research, inspections, dealer or private. c.£45k. But when it comes to sell it, I'm less confident and might prefer doing it via sale or return.

What are the pros and cons, and costs? Which specialists in the south of England are worth considering?

I sold my GTR R35 SOR via Targafloria. Very simple. No cost to me I told him what I wanted, he added on some for his costs etc etc. Sold and got my cash. Would deffo use him again.

Removes all the muppets that just call to annoy you and the worry of dealing with a load of cash or what ever they payment type will be.

Thanks, that's the exact reason I wanted to go down this route. Targa Florio look like an excellent outfit by all accounts and have 4 R8s currently, so might even be an option to buy from them too.

SOR is great unless you pick the wrong dealer. Plenty of horror stories on here.

Exactly this.

It's absolutely vital to find someone you can trust, with a strong reputation and a good financial situation.

Personally, I've done SOR through the chap who runs The Octane Collection and Millennium Heroes and can't fault the service they've provided.
