When something needs replacing I always try and have an 'improved' part fitted.

One service advisory said the dog-bone bushes had split, so next time it was in I had the solid bushes fitted, (highly recommended by the very trusted garage). O.M.G. they are bloody awful, a previously smooth petrol powered car now rattles and vibrates like a clapped out, ancient old diesel.

I was promised they would get better once they had bedded in, done a few thousand miles since fitting and they are still no better.

They will be getting changed back next time it is booked in.

Properly solid?! eek

I have poly ones, can't fault them. Admittedly the red Powerflex "diesel" (softer) option, and admittedly on a harsher car than a Passat, but still.

There's a reason manufactures fit rubber bushes, and it's not to save a few bob.
