A6 3.0 tdi Quattro, Remap, Automatic Torque Limit?
Discussion
I have a Audi A6 3.0 TDI Quattro,(2007 - Lemans) and thinking of getting it remapped.
The remap figures that I have been quoted are:
Quantum: 279 BHP 522 Nm or Emaps: 270 Bhp 550 Nm Torque.
I thinking about going for the Emaps one as they have a good reputation and will travel to you, clear any faults codes if any etc.
However my main concern is, will the 6 speed auto take the extra torque without effecting its reliability? I can find any information what the maximum limit is for the gearbox.
Mine is coming up to 99K FSH. Should I get the gearbox and filter changed at this mileage as well, or is it sealed for life?
Has anyone had any similar remaps and had any problems with remaps and the gearbox?
Any comments would be much appreciated.

Would you recommend going to Audi fir the gearbox oil & filter change. Or do I need to get to specialist gerbil place.
I take it cannot be done by a normal GARGE.
Is this quite expensive, £500.00 plus?
Needs a special tool to drain the oil from the Torque Converter.Would you recommend going to Audi fir the gearbox oil & filter change. Or do I need to get to specialist gerbil place.

Needs 9 litres of special fluid which is £30 a litre! So you're looking at £270 just for the fluid.
+ Filter + Gasket + time.
Been recommended to take it to a ZF Specialist.
I had my 2007 3.0tdi remapped by awesome gti. I had their custom map done and it transformed the power delivery it would Rev out to the redline and as soon as it shifted gear it would fall back into peak power. I had the map done at 101k miles and I sold the car on 184k and in that time it had no issues whatsoever either with the engine or the the auto box. I'd highly recommend getting it done but I'd be a little wary of generic maps.
Audi would farm it out to a specialist anyway and then add their mark up for the oil change, its a specialist item so you wouldn't want them doing it anyway. They do tell you its a seal for life but ZF say 80k. Worth it if you are to keep it. Costs quoted about right £270-300 at a specialist.
Not mapped my 3.0tdi always considered it - out of interest what are you paying to do this & what sort of performance figs are you expecting above standard?
