Appreciate some help here. Just picked up a 65 plate golf cabriolet. - UK supplied car etc.
The problem is that the digital display between the two dials shows the speed in km/h and I can't change it to mph.
The manual is no help and can't find anything in the search function here.
Any ideas?

I think you'll need to find someone with VCDS / VAGCOM and change the location option to 'rest of the world'. This should enable the display to show speed in MPH.

It's not a fault - I think it's an EU requirement that vehicle speed must be displayed in both MPH & KPH.

Indeed, they're all like that. Its not a fault.

I reckon the dealer might not change it for you, they might not know how or might refuse due to warranty etc. As said above, Anyone with a vcds cable can do it for you.

Vcds cable would be a good investment of your keeping the car for any length of time.

As above VCDS will sort this, you just need to change it from UK mode to 'Rest of world' if I remember correctly. You can then enable the big digital speed read out in MPH which is what I did in my old one:

Found the kph digital readout very useful when driving in France and as there is a big analogue mph readout (the speedo) I'm never bothered to change the digital to mph.

I agree but it's Mrs Bubbles who is unable to read the analogue dial. Don't ask......'!!!
