Guys,

I have been looking at buying a new A1 for my daughter (toward the summer - but a 16 week delivery so need to start thinking about it now) ) - but I'm worried that bar a small facelift last year, as a model its getting a bit long in the tooth?

Am I correct in assuming the Polo , on which the A1 is based, has recently been replaced with a new platform? - and therefore the A1 should follow??

I just don't want to be be buying the last of the "old" model - and therefore whether I should be looking at something else instead.

The Polo was just facelifted, it's an older model than the A1.

This, they are both the same platform, but the a1 came along a year of so later. There's probably a good 2 years left in it until it's replaced

Yeah it was only facelifted last year, so still has a while left before replacement. The Polo was facelifted slightly before the A1.

There isn't yet a new VAG small car platform in existence for a new A1 to use, since the newly released Fabia still uses PQ25 (with MQB electrics)
