Audi windows opening on their own

Has anyone else had this?
My Son walked past the car this morning (was frosty) on his way to the corner shop.
Five minutes later he returns and all the windows of my A3 are down. It was noticeable because of the frost on the rest of the car, but obviously not the windows. The keys to the car were indoors on a table and had been untouched.
The doors were still locked, so again had not been activated with the key. He reached inside the car to see if the seats were wet and the alarm went off, so again the car had not been unlocked with the key.
I have had this recently where a window was slightly open, I thought I may have hit the lock button for too long and didn't think anymore about it, but this morning all windows were completely lowered.

Not got an Audi myself but I do recall seeing plenty of threads over the years where windows have been opening themselves - a quick Google confirms this to be the case.
Recurring advice seems to be to check the passenger footwell for dampness - apparently, this is where the window convenience module is situated and, if it gets damp, it can start playing up.
I think the auto-lowering of the windows is a feature that can be deactivated. Until such time as you can get it sorted, that mightn't be a bad idea.

This happened with my old S4 B8 and with a recent A6 courtesy car. Best thing to do is as suggested - disable the "convenience" window opening feature.
The radio range of the key is greater than 30 metres (I used to test the max distance in the station car park
) so it is entirely possible that if you have more than your key in your pocket when you sit down, the unlock button is pressed and the windows will roll down.

Not on an Audi but our 2013 Seat Altea did this. Presume been VAG they share components. It was only about 6 months old at the time as well.
Came out one morning after a night of heavy rain to find all the windows down and the interior soaked with about half inch of water in the bottom of it.
Called the AA and they checked it out before starting it and amazingly everything still worked. Took the car to Seat (with a plastic seat cover over the seat) and they could find no faults with it. I took the car to work and left it overnight in the factory next to a heater with the windows open to dry it out.
Been ok since so don't know what caused it.
