Audi A6 front seat
Discussion
Hi I am looking for some advice please.
The locking slide adjustment on my A6 C7 has broken (manual seat). I have an Audi repair kit (must be fairly common), but I am a bit worried about removing the seat (Air bags etc).
Surely if the ignition is off and I disconnect any under seat connectors (heated seats) provided I don't turn the ignition on before reconnecting all should be ok, shouldn't it ?
I can see a fairly large cable tidy, but don't yet know how many connectors I am likely to find. ( I may have to undo the seat and tip it up before I can see properly).
Any thoughts or comments any one ?

In my experience, it will be fine. I've had seats out and steering wheel off without any issues. Don't turn the ignition on again until it is connected back up though, as airbag warnings often need the dealer to clear them (or VCDS to do it yourself).
If you remain concerned then disconnect the battery first. Once everything has been refitted you can turn the ignition on before reconnecting the battery, so you are under the bonnet in the event of any activations (but it won't happen anyway).

Do not turn on the ignition before you reconnect the battery. You can terminally damage the ECU and other electronic components.
Be very, very careful with airbags. They can detonate unexpectedly and hit a target at over 250 MPH.
